Discussions are underway between teams from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Guinea-Bissau authorities on a loan from the former to the latter. The amount on the table is €85 million. This is half the estimated cost of rehabilitating 115 km of Trans-African Highway 7 between Dakar and Lagos, one of the continent’s most important roads, covering some 4 000 km.
