East India Udyog – a private Indian company specialising in turnkey power projects – has been selected ahead of major players Eiffage, Achelis, Bajaj and Elsewedy to implement the Energy Access Project (Phase 1). This programme aims to increase the population’s access to electricity in Burundi, which is barely 11%.
