Orange Bank Africa has secured a share of short-term loans to its MSE customers, thanks to the support of the IFC. The development finance institution, a subsidiary of the World Bank, will grant a three-year risk-sharing facility. This will cover 50% of a loan portfolio of up to $30 million (i.e., $15 million), denominated in CFA francs. The West Africa regional director facilitated the IFC’s commitment, the Burundian Olivier Buyoya, based in Dakar since November 2022.
