According to Africa Business+ sources, the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has accepted that Hédi ben Ayed and several companies of his eponymous group increase its capital share in the Islamic finance specialist, Wifak International Bank, to 49.99%.

In the coming days, the Financial Market Council (CMF) is expected to specify the details of the takeover bid allowing the Hédi ben Ayed group (metallurgy, real estate, etc.) to strengthen its position as the largest shareholder of the Islamic universal bank.
