The country’s shipping registry, run from the US, is the second largest in the world, behind Panama’s. But, the small Gulf of Guinea republic, known for its open ship registration, can still improve many aspects of the industry. Notably in compliance with standards – the new decarbonisation requirements, for example – and training for the industry’s professions.
