Founded in 2015 by Ange Frédérick Balma, LIFI-LED has been in discussions with international venture capital funds and companies such as EDF and Facebook for the past three months, hoping to raise €15 million in three phases. The money will be used to build a factory to produce solar panels and other intelligent streetlights capable of providing light and internet connection to African towns and villages. Currently, his company imports its materials from Asia and Europe and assembles them in Côte d’Ivoire.
