Vodafone Egypt, put up for sale in January 2020, was bought by Vodacom in mid-November. The pan-African entity listed in Johannesburg and of which the British group now controls 65%, closed the transaction for an amount of €2.4 billion.

Vodafone, which wanted to reduce its debt with this transaction, is now banking on developing its subsidiary, number one in the Egyptian sector, in terms of the number of customers (43 million).
