KiwiPay-Bolloré JV invests $20m to open in Congo-B, Gabon, CAR, Chad and others

After test runs in Cameroon, the digital payment company KiwiPay, based in Singapore and founded by Frenchman Gregory Schmidt, intends to develop the largest Europe-sub-Saharan Africa online marketplace by offering more than 80 million European product references to consumers.

Central, West and East Africa are targeted, and five countries will have access to the e-commerce marketplace by the beginning of 2022: Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, Central Africa, Equatorial Guinea and Chad. Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire will follow in a second phase, then Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Countries in which KiwiPay is already operating on the payment side with teams on site.
