Last December, Cimencam, owned by LafargeHolcim, filed for two mining permits at the Biou and Bizar sites in the north. This is an area where the subsidiary of the world’s number one building materials company already extracts and exploits marble and limestone via its Figuil cement plant, part of which is exported to neighbouring Chad.
