Actis manages around $15 billion in assets worldwide. The group accelerated its digital expansion in 2020 with Rack Centre‘s purchase, a data centre specialist in Lagos, via a fund co-managed by Convergence Partners and valued at $250 million.
Hilaire Dongmo, the principal, based in London, is a real estate specialist. Trained at Sciences Po Paris, he was an M&A analyst for BNP Paribas and then Barclays, before a diversion by Cheyne Capital. He told Jeune Afrique Business+, about the growing importance of digital infrastructures in developing the African continent and in the Actis portfolio. With regard to its historical core business, real estate, the group that grew out of CDC also wants to be resilient, despite the crisis.
