ONE—Ocean Network Express—reduces ambitions in West Africa and turns to Hapag-Lloyd
The Japanese company ONE (Ocean Network Express), the world’s sixth-largest maritime container carrier, announced on 5 November that it would launch a new direct line between Northern Europe and West Africa in February 2021.

Named EWX, it aimed to set up a fleet of container ships operated directly by ONE from Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Algeciras and Tangier Med to Dakar, Tema and Abidjan. However, since the announcement, no further news has been forthcoming.
