Karpowership plans to gradually convert all 25 of its power generation vessels, which can be found throughout the world but particularly in Africa, to LNG. On the continent, its next targets are The Gambia and Sierra Leone, where its power generation vessels are currently supplied by fuel oil. As with its plants in Senegal and Mozambique, which are in the process of being converted, Karpowership will have to find LNG carriers to transform into FSRUs (floating storage regasification units), and shipyards in the two West African countries capable of carrying out these upgrades.
