The conglomerate, active in finance, real estate, industry, telecoms and hotels, began a new phase of its internal restructure on 5 October. This shift was motivated by the partial departure of Yigo Faly Thiam, Group Chief Executive and long-time friend of founder Yérim Habib Sow. Yigo Thiam is one of Teyliom’s best-known faces and has made his mark over the years. The end of the CEO’s executive responsibilities is linked neither to a governance problem, nor to strategic differences within the group, which has a presence in 16 countries in Africa and the Middle East, and is made up of several dozen companies. Thiam will continue to advise Sow on strategic issues.
