Since Canada’s Barrick merged with the very African Randgold on 1 January 2019, South Africa’s Mark Bristow, CEO of the new outfit, now the world’s second largest gold producer, has entrusted his compatriot Willem Jacobs with leading the Africa and Middle East region.
