Total signs the FID on Nigeria LNG’s Train 7 project ($10 billion)

Together with its partners Shell, Eni and NNPC, the French group has given the go-ahead for the launch of a $10bn project. The investment is expected to close sometime this year and will be carried out by the Italian company Saipem.

Total is hungry for liquefied natural gas in Africa. Alongside its Mozambique LNG mega-project, the group has just formally approved with its partners the expansion of Nigeria LNG‘s capacities for an estimated amount of at least $10bn. The French group has not yet publicly disclosed the decision, unlike its Italian partner ENI, but “Total has indeed approved the expansion,” according to a source close to the group.
