This change at the head of the utility comes about after the surprise dismissal of Olivier Jaomiary at the Council of Ministers meeting on 14 August. No reason was given for his removal. The World Bank, which had overseen the procedure for his appointment in 2017, was not pleased at this decision which was made without prior consultation.
