Renewables: Hussain AlNowais signs power purchase agreements for two mega-projects in Egypt

The Emirati businessman has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for two forthcoming renewable energy plants in Egypt with a total capacity of 700MW and an expected investment of around $1bn.

According to a source close to the operation, AMEA Power‘s investment for the two plants amounts to $975m and represents one of the largest to date for the Emirati renewable energy company. A minority part of the financing will come from equity while the rest will be raised in debt, according to our sources.
