Prosuma throws in the towel with Yaatoo, leaving the field free for Jumia

According to information obtained by Jeune Afrique Business+, the e-commerce site, owned by the Ivorian retail group, is to cease trading. Its main shareholder considers that it does not generate enough income to self-finance.

Three years after its launch in July 2016, Yaatoo, the e-commerce platform run by giant Côte d’Ivoire retail group Prosuma, is shutting up shop. “I am leaving Prosuma which has decided not to pursue its investments in Yaatoo,” announced Doungnan Coulibaly, CEO of the platform since it started out and who was initially recruited from Jumia, in comments to Jeune Afrique Business+.
