The BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system has already been introduced in the Colombian city of Bogota and a similar project is underway in Dakar. The bus lanes are usually built in the central section of the road and the buses used are articulated vehicles. The buses in Abidjan will also be powered by electricity. The system aims to carry 300,000 passengers per day.
